There are times when a WordPress plugin won’t deactivate or delete properly and you will need to manually remove it.

Or, this is especially the case with some security plugins, you may get locked out of your site.

Doing this will allow you to get back in…

First, login to cPanel click on ‘File Manager’:

From there, find the domain name folder. If you do not see the domain name folder on the screen after clicking File Manager, click on public_html and it should appear on that screen:

Next double click on the “wp-content” folder:

Then double click on the “plugins” folder:

Click on the plugin folder you will like deactivated and click on the “delete” top menu item:

The plugin will now be removed/deactivated from your WordPress dashboard.
