We created a sweet little piece of software (or as our friends in the UK say “piece of kit”) that allows you to use Dropbox to deliver streaming video, files downloads, or use Dropbox to host your images all without the visitor having to visit Dropbox.
So for instance, in many of the bonus packages I offer, my mega graphics package is included. These files are really big since they are all graphics modules.
Instead of uploading them to my server and having people download them. I upload them to Dropbox to save disk space and bandwidth (plus, Dropbox is usually very fast).
With this software, the visitor no longer needs to visit Dropbox in order to download the files. When a person clicks on the download link, the file starts downloading directly as if you were hosting them on your server. Doing it this way also looks more professional.
The software is super easy to use and there nothing to download, it’s all online…
1) Get your “share” link from Dropbox:
2) When the popup appears, copy the share link:
3) Paste the link into the box and click “Get Url”:
4) Copy and paste the link the software gives you into your page (or video player if it’s an mp4). This is the direct link to the content:
